This course will provide critical knowledge and pragmatic skill training opportunities related to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the universal and transformative agenda and how the United Nations continues to provide the forum for promoting and monitoring their implementation. Particular focus will be given to SDG-1 of Leaving No One Behind and its linkages to other SDGs, while the challenges faced by vulnerable countries such as Least Developed Countries and Small Island Developing States, are highlighted. This year, the outcome of the UN GA-80, 2025 Oceans Conference, 2024 UN Conference on Small Island Developing States held in 2024, the 2024 Summit of the Future, and the COP30 of the Climate Change will also be considered. It is intended for students interested in pursuing international public service as a career and those who wish to gain pragmatic skills in applying analytical, conceptualizing and English skills in future UN or related careers at the entry level. The classes will be interactive as much as possible.
